A fair comparison???

As mentioned before, i was taking pictures at a wedding earlier this year and i both used my own SD15 and was also asked to take some pictures with the happy couples own camera.
As far as i remember it was a Nikon 5100 and the lens was a 35mm f/1.8 - when postprocessing the pictures i noticed a significant difference in how the details in the 'bridal veil' (thanks to Google translate!). I made a .jpg in SPP to compare on equal terms, since the Nikon pictures are .jpg from the camera.
Do we see a result of de-bayering interpolation destroying the Nikon picture, the ISO value, or....???? When i look at the faces it looks like they are equally sharp (or not sharp). Both pictures are equally zoomed to cover a similar area of the 'bridal veil' and they are made from similar distance.
No postprocessing are done to either pictures (except what SPP do default).
