Nikon D600 slowdown - buffer full after 1-2 shots?
Oct 20, 2012

Hi folks,

Canon user trying out the new Nikon D600. First impressions are very good. The ergonomics is very different than my Canon 5D Mkii, however the upside to the D600 is of course the sensor and AF points. In any case, I just got the D600 with a 50mm 1.4G and I'm seeing something rather pecular. After I first start the camera up and shoot the first one or two shots there is a signifcant lag BEFORE it lets me take another shot. It behaves like a full buffer, trying to dump to the card. I'm using a Patriot LX Series 32gb, Class 10. In fact I just tried it while I was typing this up and it occurred again...and the camera was on. Once I'm allowed to take the next shot all subsequent shots are fine.  I can take the full 9-10 before the buffer fills (I shoot RAW) with no issue. Is this a known issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...
