Canon 6D release date?

B&H has December 10 while yeterday at Best Buy they were taking pre-orders and said that release was expected in October!
The guy who stated that is really a good photo guy and Canon shooter that knows his stuff, not the regular teen age kid BB usually employs.
Amazon doesn't even show a tentative date so does anyone have any better info?
