Why do people find 36mp such a burden?

After getting the D800 last week i realised just how big 36mp really are..so what?

I prefer it.

Coming from a 7D 18mp i thought that was enough!

Yes it takes up a lot of hd space ,1TB for storage is cheap now compared to spending over 5K on a body and 1 lens!!

Yes my computer takes about 15% longer to process in PP and twice as long to transfer, that can be fixed easily and cheaply when i shoot in full raw at highest resolution, but it's not bad enough for a immediate comp rebuild

The D600 is no slouch but the D800 has got it when you need it.

I 'm not saying that everyone should have a 36mp sensor and you do get what you pay for,and so far in my opinion the new Nikon D600-D800 really blows some of the other brands out of the water for IQ

Glad i got divorced from Mrs Canon .....so far the dark side really isn't that bad
