If you are a dab hand at soldering you could always build yourself a home made one, very easy, it just took me about 30 mins.
use these web sites to get the info you need,
Pin out for the 10pin Socket.  Nikon pin out.
How to wire up the 10 pin socket for the camera. wiring diagram.
A couple of wiring diagrams using opto isolators and Transistor switching.

You can use these to build your own.
I personally used the one for the 40D 
I sort of cheated, in that i made mine so that i could change the lead for either a Canon or Nikon, depending on which one i was using.
The only other bit of software you need, is some free astro software to control the cable,
Now set your camera to B and let the PC take the long exposures.
