Do people miss VR on Nikon 24-70mm 2.8?

We never had it on this lens so it's hard to miss.  Rephrasing do I wish the 24-70 had VR?  Sometimes.

More than VR I wish it were a bit sharper at the edges at f/2.8 now that I'm pixel peeping with a D800e.  I'm shooting mainly with 24/1.4G, 35/1.4G, and 85/1.8G because I can see a difference in IQ that I wasn't as apparent with a 12mpx sensor.   VR wouldn't change this.
