Flickr causes crashes with Aperture

I traditionally have uploaded directly to Flickr from Aperture.  This never was a problem until the latest update of A3 (or was it the latest OSX?)

What happens is that when my computer goes to sleep the link to Flickr "breaks".  Then you get an error message that "there was an error communicating with Flickr".  At this point all A3 menu options are greyed out so you can't quit the program.

The only way out is to force quit the Aperture program.  After this happens a few times, A3 will give an error message and forces you to rebuild the Library.

As I see it, the only way to avoid this is to always remember to close A3 when you leave the computer.  But this isn't always feasible.  Any suggestions?
