So frustrated!

All I wanted to do was some simple Time-lapse! Easy right? WRONG! The system has no cable release, the ir port works half assed at times not Going off tin the middle of a set.  And of course Sony didn't see fit to put this into the camera as a setting in the first place or in the firmware release.  I suppose it's my own fault for getting the cam in the first place.  It's a great system but in some ways severely limited.
