Seems to me Nikon was expedient with the course they chose to " remove" the AA filter effect.

It was obviously easier for them to put 2 of the same filters in front of the sensor that cost cents each, rather than just the IR filter in a production environment.

I am sure there is no filter besides the IR filter in front of the Phase one or Hassleblad sensor.

I am not the one speculating here. You guys are. I am purely offering up the obvious question that has really never been asked.

Untill someone removes the AA filter completely and see's what effect it actually has. I dont see how you can all just assume it has NO effect.

The D800/e is built to a price. and I defy you to justify the $300 price difference based on an identical camera with a small pce of glass different in front of the sensor. If they where serious they would have removed the AA filter completely. Even if it cost more  money seeing they where going to charge extra for it.
