Advise for African Safari (Tanzania)

I'm going to Tanzania in January for Safari. Any advises on equipment or technique would be appreciated. Sizable dn weight are an issue.

im currently taking:

Canon T4i with 70-300 L

Canon T2i with 15-85 3.5-5.6

hoods for both

monopod and lens ring for the 70-300

5x32G and 3x16 G SD cards (all Sandisc class 10)

5 batteries and 1 chHargreaves got Hoya Pro1 UV filters to protect from all the dust

any other suggestions?  For instance would you recommend any ND or CP filters?  Do I really needs those?

any advise on techniques. I am an experienced photographer (hobbiest) but not well experienced with wildlife.
