Oly EM5 vs Fuji XE1
Oct 19, 2012
I made a simple financial comparison for the camera/lens combos which should cover my basic needs (portraits and cityscapes) adequately:
EM5: €1100
25/1.4: €550
12-35/2.8: €1100
Total: €2750

XE1 + 18-55/2.8-4: €1400
35/1.4: €550
Total: €1950

Normally I would not compare a kitlens with a prolens (12-35). However, the Fuji 'kitlens' seems to be very good and capable. Image quality wise it might even be a peer of the 12-35?

Ofcourse I need to add an uwa and a portrait lens. That would lead to the following:

EM5: €1100
25/1.4: €550
12-35/2.8: €1100
7-14/4.0: €1000
45/1.8: €300
Total: €4050

XE1 + 18-55/2.8-4: €1400
35/1.4: €550
10-24/4.0: €?
56/1.4: €?
Total: €1950 +€?

So the 10-24/4.0 and 56/1.4 together should be €2150 to have same price as EM5....That should be doable.
So from a financial point of view, the Fuji combo seems to be a better offering for my needs?
