Just like others mentioned you will be fine with the temps. My first DSLR was the Canon XTi (400D) and I used it to take pictures of snowmible races. Temps will go down as much as -20F with wind chills of -35F. I paired it with a battery grip which helped a lot. And just like imqqmi said, I let my camera in the bag actually until next day. Just to make sure it will be ok. Besides, after a whole day outside under those conditions, when I got home all I want to do is taking a nice long warm bath and go straight to bed.
