I'm not going to tell you how to feel, and I'm not going to say it's right to randomly/arbitrarily vote down legitimate questions. But just know that actual responses from people may be far less "welcoming."
Having said that, there are more than a few posters who are genuinely helpful. My advice to anyone visiting would be to browse before you post a question. Then you'll have an idea who are the helpful people, who are the true trolls, and who are the gadflies. Then use that as a filter for any replies to your questions.
I agree that the voting system is anonymous, but then again the frequent advice here often is worth what you paid for it.
