If I have a flash, is my fast lens still have use?

Typical example is when I have my Nikon SB-910 Speedlight mounted on my Nikon D3100's shoe mount, should I still use my AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G or can I just use the AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G or AF-S Nikkor 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G and produce similar results with equal Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO under RAW setting.

Or is my 35mm prime still better in image quality compared to the kit lens even with a flash.

I also want to point out that in terms of image quality, I find the 18-55mm, and 16-85mm similar in good lighting conditions (I prefer the 18-55mm because the 16-85mm is just borrowed).
