I am afraid you're wrong. Now, I admit I only quicky looked at your post until I saw you mention that the (outdoor) images were taken at a different time of day. This alone invalidates testing a symptoms which differ with the spectrum of the color.
The color fringing with some range finder lenses is a hardware issue and it is not fixable with a simple firmware update. (Now if the camera allowed for taking calibration images etc, the symptoms could of course be fixed to a degree.
For kicks I tested CV 15 and nothing's changed, as expected.
