I found 35 1.4g not very sharp on D800 shooting wide open. Wicked sharp in center at 2.8 though with pleasing bokeh...

Something to think about - I sold both my 24 & 35 1.4gs and replaced them with 28 1.8g with no regrets. The savings helped fund my OMD EM-5 system, which I am very happy with.
