The 85 Nikon? (You mean the 85 f1.2 Nikon??)

Yeah, because everyone needs f/1.2 for 85mm studio portraits. Anyone who thinks that f/1.4 will work is just kidding themselves! But hey, more dynamic range is just stupid, right?

Maybe you should read up a bit more - Dynamic range has nothing to do with f-stop. Anyway you obviously have no idea what a half stop difference can do to background blur

What? I never said DR has anything to do with f-stop. In your original post you completely ignored the OP's comment about shooting fashion, made it all about studio portraiture (not that the OP used the word "studio" anywhere), ranted about dynamic range for a while, then said that f/1.2 was the biggest advantage Canon had. Given that the Nikon 50 and 85 are equal or better in many ways than the Canon equivalent at f/1.4, your comment only applies IF you're shooting at f/1.2. Do portrait shooters really use f/1.2 most of the time?

Yes, I'm very aware of the difference half a stop can make.

Read your own post - you clearly equated fstop with dynamic range.

No f1.2 is used very little - but try it outside an prepare to be amazed.
