I'm assuming... like one of you suggested.... that the ink makes the paper slick and screws up the feed mechanism
In case someone else is experiencing this, I'm suggesting starting the printing of small proofs from the far end of a sheet so that the feed rolllers never roll over a printed area.
I have a fully color managed system with monitor and printer profiles. I have not seen or felt the need to print test images ever since I added the ColorMunki Photo to my workflow.
While your mileage may vary, I don't see the need to tweak proofs. Just my US$0.02.
