Zoom lens for video shoots with d5100

I am doing several video shoots with a D5100 for a personal project I am working on. I have multiple interviews with people that need to be shot and I thinking about picking up an older zoom lens.

I don't want a 5.6 lens; I need something that I can get different focal lengths during the interview and not have to mess with the aperture setting. I would like to just light for 4.5 and have the ability to work from maybe 35 on the wide end and 70-80 on a close up. With 1080p you have some range to zoom in 10 percent without loss so I really don't need a long zoom.

I don't need auto focus or metering because it a controlled situation.

I am open to any of the older zoom lenses. My top priority is getting the sharpest image I can in the field.

I see many 18-70 4.5 out their and that would do the trick. Just wondering if their are any other older Nikon zoom that would work.
