The Taliban simply hate everyone and believe they are on a mission that is endorsed by God (Allah). Religious people of all stripes carry a passion unlike any other. I have yet to hear one sensible strategy to counter them other than the currentUSgovernment plan. Our current strategy is having limited success. Today’s arrest of a Bangladeshi man for plotting to blow up the Federal Reserve building in Manhattan tells me that we have failed to communicate our peaceful intent. Allies of theUnited Statesneed to meet and devise new plans.
