I would have completely believed if OP stated the images were taken with a 10yr old 3mp p&s.
Something is most definitely not right here.
The E5 and the 90-250 are of the highest quality gear and these examples do not even remotely come within a sniff of proving it.
Sorry no advice as to how better to use the lens other than try a tripod.
