Kit Lens and 5N - video newbie question

I haven't done a lot of video so hopefully this isn't too dumb of a question.  When using video and zooming in or out, is it normal to pick up sound (like a swishing, for lack of a better description) from the lens?  Am I just zooming too quickly?
