D600 & "kit" 24-85mm 3.5/4.5 VR

Hi

I had to make the same decision, but with no "legacy" lenses.  I bought the 24-120 because I want the extra walkabout flexibility with one lens.  The 24-85 was too much like the 18-55 option on a DX format, which I find too restrictive.

Early impressions of the 24-120 are that it is an excellent lens, very sharp and with great VR, it is twice the weight and twice the cost of the 24-85 and the camera/lens combo ends up quite chunky.
