When you say auto lens, is it a different category of lens or just the regular kit lens.

No need to apologize. I meant automatic or "system" lenses. For the G3, that means micro 4/3 lenses from Panasonic, Olympus or Sigma. For the NEX-5N, that means E mount lenses from Sony or Sigma.
Both cameras' kit lenses are auto or system lenses.
