Is it time for war against Nikon?

This is old news, I forgot about Nikon's new parts policy, must not be too big of a problem or there would be more people complaining about it. Not just people unhappy with the policy, but photographers who have had to pay for a simple part to be replaced at Nikon service. I just checked B&H and they have Nikon battery covers listed for sale and in stock for the pro SLR's, I didn't check the amateur bodies.

I will continue to shoot Nikon as their new parts/repair policy is not a big deal for me. They want to improve their bottom line, all real businesses do, again, not a big deal for me. Repair costs are just a part of doing business for me, it's built into my pricing just as purchasing new equipment is. When a camera is in for service, I have them do a clean, lube & check, I still have 5 others to use, 2 are current bodies, 2 are 1 model old and 2 are 2 models old.

As for parts that are easy to replace like battery doors on bodies and flash units, still not a problem. I purchase new bodies in pairs and I purchase replacement battery doors at the same time so if needed, I have it with me, not, 'My battery door broke and now my (only) camera can't work'. The same for flash, 5 SB-800 and 2 extra battery doors. So far getting battery doors from Nikon has not been a problem with their new parts policy, maybe it's because I include it with the order for new bodies. I have purchased used/dead/not working bodies/flash for parts I can replace.

My policy sense 1972 is I have a backup for everything needed to do a wedding and not just camera equipment, a complete change of cloths is always in a travel bag in my car, as is a first aid kit and an extra pair of glasses.
