What to upgrade a 5D to?

Since a lot of us are complaining about lack of progress with Canons new models I think it is legitimate to suggest other brands. (It is not like there is a new raving hot camera of Canon around the block and someone says forget about it take brand X instead)

Let the Canon user who has not even peeked at what other brands deliver nowadays throw the first stone.
