cf for example my Nikon D3s bodies and so on - yes they all fell in price (a little) a while after launch but they still don't give away free lenses or extra warranty!
Contrary to many, that much drop in value is not typical. However it is a risk you have to take when you buy from a brand new line of camera with no previous sale record.
