The in-camera results from Fuji are definitely well done.  But the converter is designed in Fujifilm's typically half A$$ed way.  That is why I laugh heartily when people say "Fujifilm knows what photographers want".  RIGHT!!!

When I shoot RAW with my X10 or X100, I ALWAYS use the in-camera converter.  So I come back to my house with 100-200 images on the card.  Then I go through and convert them.  Here is an example of how dumb Fuji engineers are.

Say I am working on image 37.  I go through and set my RAW conversion parameters.  Then I convert and review.  If I like it I hit OK and then I set into play mode looking at the recently made JPEG.  This JPEG is image at the END of the line of all the images.  I have to scroll all the way back to image 38 if I want to continue converting.  That is absolutely INSANE.  Why be set on the last image, one you just approved by hitting OK and not onto the next image to be processed?  Pure lunacy.

hi rattymouse.

A) with many conversions

you could copy all the RAW files for security before converting picture #1. having seen the converted jpg you scroll one step forward to RAW #1 which you either convert with other parameters or delete. you delete every RAW file you don't want to convert. when finished you format the card.

Your proposed work flow addresses NONE of the points I addressed above.  Not helpful.
