Hiking w. a full-size tripod?

Yup, I hiked through different parts of Alaska with a 65" carbon fiber tripod from Rocketfish. It was 5.8lbs and not terribly inconvenient, but you knew it was there...the only downside to that setup was they aren't ara-swiss compatible...but still beat other options for it's price-range.
