Hi friend,

I shoot in monochrome only. Color is classless. Do you think Ansel Adams, Henri Cartier-Bresson, or William Eggleston would've shot color?!

Ansel wrote about his thoughts on color. The only reason he didn't use it was because it wasn't good enough in his time. With the control one has over digital color, I think he would have used it.

There's actually an entire monograph dedicated to his color photography. He definitely shot it.

Hard to know about Henri Cartier-Bresson. He made some unsuccessful attempts at using color. He was not into the technical aspects of photography and didn't like doing his own developing and printing.

HCB was sent to photograph in China. The assignment was done in color.

As for Eggleston, "William Eggleston’s standing as one of the masters of colour photography is widely acknowledged."

I even had to go look for his B&W work because I usually only see his color stuff.
