New Layout - double line space on enter?

I only recently bought Word 2010 - I had been struggling with Open Office, where I couldn't do a "find".
I see that the default style does indeed place more room after an enter.
You are, however, able to change the Style back to Word 2003 and get rid of the large spacing after an enter.
