Canon 70-200 2.8 (non is) on modern crop..

I'm thinking about selling my 70-200 f4 and 100l to get a 70-200 2.8 non is.This because I use my macro almost exclusively for portrait work and find the lack of zoom limiting.

Most of the reviews I've found are very positive but all of them are dated. I would like to hear something about its performance on a modern crop body like the 50d, 60d or 7d. I would love to hear how this lens delivers on a camera with such high pixeldensity. I would love to see some samples and crops as well...

I know about the sigma OS which is in the same price range. I don´t really feel I need IS/OS on a lens like this for the shots I will be taking.
