Great camera - but what about a lens

I love my K10 Pentax even if is not the latest model. The CCD sensor produces great images and colors under normal daylight condition - mainly in RAW. My problem is a proper everyday lens to go with it. I am using the kit lens which is an OK lens, but just OK...When I compare it to the results I am getting from my old Sony DSC R1 with it's Zeiss 24-120mm. (35mm equiv.) - there is nothing to compare. Another lens which is a reference for me is the Olympus Zuiko 14-54 which I used to own some years ago.

Is there any lens which can upgrade the results I am getting?
