Any filter shot into a bright light source will create some flare, but it does help if your filter is multicoated. For instance the Hoya SMCs are very good. Also, you realize that by shooting at f22 you're destroying all the sharpness and much of the contrast in your shot. The Foveon sensor in the SD1M is so sharp that any f stop beyond f5.6 lowers its quality. If you want greater dof the best way is to use focus stacking.
Or use neutral filter.
