Why is the Sony RX1 assigned to the compact Cyber-shot forum?

The fact that it has a 35mm lens on it, that made me interested in it. 35mm will give a good level of DOF control.

And so I followed the comments about it. Especially the ones last week, when the sample photos became available, here at dpr.

Lots of people saying they would never be interested. And that's what I feel too.

I often put my camera in my backpack, so a external EVF, something that hangs out from the body, that makes me less interested too.

But I am super happy to see the camera coming out. And I look forward to seeing other cameras like this one, at lower prices.

Maybe even the same deal, with a EVF and a 50mm lens on it.
