400GB of storage - what's the best solution?

A little more expensive but when I'm travelling I bring my netbook. Asus EEE pc. Comes with 500gb internal HDD so that should cover your storage needs. for CF cards you'll also need an external card reader (they're cheap and you have like 3 usb ports in the netbook).

It'll cost you like $300 (you could probably find them for less now, I'm not sure) but they have pretty good battery life, are less expensive than a tablet, fold shut so you can throw them in a backpack and not worry about them and have enough storage that you can keep movies on them for watching on a plane (big advantage over tablets).
