Just another question I can't find an answer to

I have had my D800E for about two weeks and all seems OK EXCEPT - I can't get NX2 exposure compensation to do anything ( it is gray'd out. Opens D3 and D3X NEF files with no problems. I know I missed something but no luck. Thanks in advance. Also PhotoShop 5 won't even open it at all!.
