Lots of feedback peeps, thx.

I've since sold my TC 1.4 and just got a TC 1.7 (510mm), you loose 1.5 stops to 6.7.

So heres a shot from it today, a grey cloudy .. rainy day. It's cropped to about 36% in ACR.

F/11, 1/100, ISO 9000, on a tripod

I am not expecting Magic from this and it really needs good light .. especially for BIF. I am hoping that under good light the bird will fill more of the frame and be able to get sharper/cleaner BIFs ...

I was able to get the 1.7 at no additional cost to what I paid for the 1.4 so will have to see how it all plays out.
