Have you tried with Spot Metering?

With mine this often helps with overexposure, usually caused by imablances in all the light across the huge picture plane.

I train on what I want to be exposed right and use that exposure for the whole thing – either keep it in the centre or use the green button or similar.

Or....

you could have some completely differnt problem, but try this to see if it eliminates a possibility, if you haven't already.
