New 12MP 1/1.7" sensor - HX/RX hybrid?

Could it be possible for Sony to produce an RX/HX hybrid camera, now that they are producing a new 12MP 1/1.7" sensor?
According to the Dpreview news page, the sensor can be fitted into high zoom cameras, which leads me to believe that this could be on the horizon.
I would definitely be at the front of the queue if Sony was to release an HX model with fewer pixels than the HX20V but with a larger sensor and hopefully in a metal body [dreams].
Anyone agree?
