The 80-200 is a very short lens for F1. this is because of all the safety requirements of the tracks, pushing spectators further away from the track with runoffs and safety fences. Try to attend practice sessions where you can walk around the track taking advantage of different vantage points. You would be better off with the 120-400 but look at the Sigma 150-500 or at a higher price the better Sigma 50-500, A option is the 120-300 f2.8 plus a teleconverter if your funds can reach, you would find a monopod very useful for these longer lenses, it would be nicel to know which race you would be attending.
