Focus Stacking

I usually load all the images into PS layers, do any cropping, then let PS do the auto-align and auto-blend.  Then I look at the resulting image to see if it came out good enough to do the rest of the PP work.  The most common problem I run into is having spots in the image that are not in good enough focus.  Sometimes it appears to be user error, changing focus too much between successive shots, sometimes it looks like PS doesn't always pick the sharpest image for a particular part.

These were done using tethered shooting so I could more precisely control the focus increment between shots.  Hopefully when Magic Lantern is available for the 7D this will be a lot easier.
