DX only exists because of the prohibitively high sensor costs of FX. But the D3 at entry was less expensive than the D1, and the D600 is basically the same price (accounting for currency fluctuations) as the D100 at entry. So the people that could afford DX then can afford FX now and get full use of the large variety of lenses that were never replicated in DX.

I also said in the first post that people who want small and light should go for micro 4/3rd or Nikon 1.

The only hope that DX has for the future would be in entry level DSLRs, but even there Nikon's D3200 had to go with an insanely large pixel count to be attractive. Frankly, unless someone is considering a D3200 as a stepping  stone to a larger DSLR, they are better served by micro 4/3rd or possibly the Nikon 1. Even high end point-and-shoots aren't that bad these days!
