Would a Shift/Tilt lens work on the XZ-1?

If I built a DIY shift/tilt lens, and attached it to my CLA-12 adapter on my XZ-1, would I be able to get that miniature effect?

All the shift/tilt articles and DIY build instruction, I could find, talk about removable lens bodies.

What sort of camera setting would likely work?  eg Manual focus, long focal length, etc?  And what sort of lens might work?
