#4 then #5. I own the Gary Fong Puffer, just did a quick and dirty test this past Sunday on a living room wall that has a knock down texture in white. The difference was remarkable how the image with the Puffer brought out the texture and had a more even distribution of light. I was using(playing around/learning) a Nikon D700 in commander mode and a SB700 flash in remote mode while using a 105 micro lens. I'll do some more testing in the future when I adjust the hole used to mount the puffer a bit higher just to see what slight affects occur.
