Very subjective quesiton - Niikon 85mm f1.4 versusm 70-200 f2.8 VRII

I use the sigma 85 and Nikon 70-200 for similar things.  Occasionally I will shoot at f1.4 but find that f2.8 -f4 is a better  aperature on my d800.  If you don't need the longer focal length and you need the extra 2 stops of light the 85 is the way to go.  For general use and flexibility the 70-200 is the way to go.  IQ is close bit my Sigma is better  then the Nikon at all aperatures.  VR is helpful in many situations.  I personally could not get by without both these lenses.
