Yep.. check your transmitter batteries first and change them. The D7000 can be set to 1/320s FP so it should have no problem with 1/250s X sync.
What are you using to trigger with? The D7000 only has a hotshoe so if you're using some triggers with x-sync adjustment they will need resetting.
