setting hyperfocal with Oly m43 cameras

there has been a bit of talk about using the "lens cap lens" for street shooting, but for those of us who have the Panny 14 or Oly 17, what about just using manual focus and setting the point of focus to something approximating hyperfocal distance? The problem is, how to do this where the setting will "stick" if the camera goes off and is turned back on again. It is a pain in the ---- to have to refocus each time. Is there some way to do this? I can't figure it out from the lousy documentation we get with our cameras...
