All:

Purchased a x100 a month ago- best money I ever spent, the camera has a soul. As a recent digital convert from film, I am shooting fine JPEG & using iPhoto now for simple PP tweaking (saturation/contrast/sharpness/definition/cropping/straightening and highlight).

Questions on PP on x100:

1-Can anyone touch on what you are using for PP software with the x100?

I use Lightroom. Lightroom has a lens correction preset that works well.

2-Your impression of the debate of shooting RAW versus OOC JPEG post processing

I never use jpegs. The raw files from the X100 are some of the best I've seen. The XP 1 and D700 raw files are a bit better, but not by much. I know many prefer jpegs and I understand their point of view. I was trained decades ago never to discard original data until I knew I didn't need it any more. I'm just stuck in that mind set.

One nice feature of the X100 is you can create different jpeg versions of one image using the in-camera software.

You could shoot raw plus jpeg for a while and make your own judgement.

3-Last- any of you using Siver Efex Pro for B&W?

I use B&W prests I've created in Lightroom. I should try the Silver Efex Pro plugin some day.

Thank you in advance-Dan
