How can Panasonic make such wonderful cameras, yet....

...fall so dreadfully short in the lens-cap area? Really! I don't mind at all the old-school lens cap idea generally, but with Panasonic their fit is dubious, their grip is tenuous (as is your grip on them), and the string? Don't get me started.
My Panasonic life started with the LX5, and I learned to tolerate the cap because it had some quirks that I could use to my advantage. I assumed (mistakenly, as it turns out) that with such an innovative company the caps could hardly get any worse when I bought my GH2, my LX7 and, worst of the lenscap lot, the FZ200.
Imagine a 600mm f2.8 Leica-endorsed lens with an ill-fitting, slippery, scratch-inducing lens cap! It just seems odd that so much cleverness and care go into the design and build of these magnificent cameras yet the cap remains an utter afterthought.
Thank you for reading my rant. And yes, if that's all I can find to complain about, they must be excellent cameras.
